2. Quarterly Payout Mechanics

Under SCSS, interest is credited directly to your linked savings bank account on the first working day of April, July, October, and January:

Single Account (₹30 Lakhs): ₹61,500 / quarter (₹20,500 / month equivalent)

3. Eligibility & Extension Rules

  • Age 60+: Any resident individual.
  • Age 55 to 60: Retired on Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) or superannuation (must invest within 1 month of receiving retirement benefits).
  • Retired Defence Personnel: Eligible from age 50+.
  • Extension: Can be extended in 3-year blocks indefinitely upon submitting Form-4.

4. Taxation: Section 80C & Section 80TTB

Initial Investment: Qualifies for Section 80C deduction (up to ₹1.5 Lakhs) under the Old Tax Regime.
